We are excited to announce our first Australian patent covering our Digital Soil Core (DSC) technology. We have also been granted patents on the DSC in 39 European countries and the US.

Why patent? This is how a ‘small’ company can protect its ideas and bring them to the world. LandScan has several other granted and pending patents on our hashtag#digitaltwin and hashtag#digitalvegetationsignature technology both in the US and internationally.

It will be impossible for others to deploy spectroscopy tech in a practical vertical profiling soil probe without risking patent infringement or employing signal degrading mechanisms such as prisms and baffles. Our patented DSC keeps the light source and the spectrometer above ground, improving thermal stability and leaving lots of room for additional sensors to measure parameters that are critical to understanding and interpreting the spectroscopic signal, such as moisture, imagery, structure, bulk density, etc.
